Visit the Voices of Hope website to learn more about the Rails to Recovery program.  Feel free to pass this on to anyone you know who could benefit from this service.

As of 7.18.2018 The Empire Service Rails to Recovery program has had 1,732 riders since inception.

The Amtrak Rails to Recovery program began in May of 2014 and was “soft-launched” in order to ensure that all 23 agencies involved would be able to handle the inquiries and provide the necessary support required for the program. From May to January of 2014 a total of 43 riders used the program. During 2015 it was decided that the VOH agencies and Amtrak were ready to promote it and various programs were put into effect such as an advertisement in NY by Rail, 5,000 Brochure rack cards that were distributed at Amtrak Stations, various events across the State, and at agencies participating in the program. The program was also discussed on the Stephanie Abrams national syndicated radio travel show broadcast out of Pittsfield, MA.  Thus far the program has been very well received by the customers who are using it and both Amtrak Station staff and VOH members have received positive feedback.

We look forward to continued success with the Rails to Recovery program in 2018 and we look forward to working in partnership with all the Voices of Hope agencies and their staff. We will continue to seek ways to inform customers of this program and for future improvements.
